The Brief
The new owner of Victorian Caravan Hire approached Tag The Cat to help create a better customer experience and attract more customers. Our role was to reinvigorate the brand and develop a custom website and booking system to increase bookings.
The Result
The challenge for this business, was an increasingly competitive market, with big players that were dominating with automated customer experiences. The first task was to develop a new brand identity, logo and messaging direction. After a brand research phase, an updated spin on a traditional Australian colour palette was developed, that evoked the outdoors and a spirit of adventure. The new logo and graphic device calls to mind the romance of a winding road and the nostalgic shape of a traditional caravan. The brand message, 'Make it a real adventure’ tapped into the unique appeal of caravan travel - the desire to connect meaningfully with family and friends and get back to what is real in life.
To showcase the new brand, a new website and custom built booking system was developed. New messaging and copy was developed across the site, including a new value proposition. The new booking system allows customers to browse different caravans, see prices and book their holiday instantly. It also provides the business with a high level of pricing complexity, allowing for peak and off peak rates, minimum hire periods and special discounts periods to be built-in. Previously, customers were unable to book instantly and were required to email a request before they could view a price. This delay in finalising bookings led some customers to look elsewhere for a quicker and more convenient booking service. From the moment the website was launched customer bookings increased by 62 percent. Booking management time was also significantly reduced for internal staff.
